This past weekend was my birthday weekend and your girl was declaring that she was Queen…move over Bey! After the big 2-5 last year I felt that all of my birthdays from now on were going to be very minimal until 30, 40, and so on. For this birthday I literally was planning to go to a super posh hotel, have a spa day, and sleep in the lap of luxury….all by myself. But at the last minute I decided to do a little cross border shopping in Buffalo and then have a BBQ the next day which I didn’t know was going to turn into a turnt up 90’s jam/karaoke session; nothing has and will ever compare to 90’s music!

I was planning to do a birthday lookbook like I did last year but I only had 2 outfits to display instead of 4 or more.

As I get older I have been experiencing symptoms of grandma-like behaviour, so I wanted to relive my childhood a bit with this mickey mouse tank.

I am obsessed with leopard print and gold, so clearly I was trying to incorporate those elements into my party. I also dabbled in a little DIY to give a unique touch, I would’ve done a lot more but eventually I just got lazy lol. At the moment I am loving the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm (why does it have such a long name?!?!) It is basically a tinted moisturizer that I am using for the summer instead of foundation. It feels very light on the face and perfect for those summer days when you want to look put together without having that “my face is melting” look. I paired it with one of my Buffalo purchases, a lip liner to go that I got from Sephora in the colour “Light brown”. Essentially it is a mini lip liner that gives me a nude look on my lips and best of all it is $6!!! No need to go to MAC and buy a lip liner that is $20

Apart from the cake lady spelling my name wrong @*#$% I really enjoyed this birthday! I can’t wait to see what next year’s hashtag will be.
