58th Grammy Awards

Another Grammy awards has come and gone,  I am upset that Tori Kelly didn’t win Best New Artist but I am happy for Kendrick and his wins and performance. I’m quickly realizing that jazz is my top favourite genre to listen to (because it is real music) so to pair jazz with hip hop on “To Pimp a Butterfly” had all the neurons in my brain dancing up a storm. Artists that I never heard of like Alabama Shakes and Chris Stapleton REALLY blew me away with their performances, I’m still trying to piece together how Alabama Shakes is considered in the “Rock” category because it sounds more funk/soul to me.

SLAY QUEEN

Taylor Swift in Atelier Versace

My slay queen of the night was Taylor Swift. I’m starting to like the colour blocking with red and pink (before I hated it) I just wish that she wasn’t wearing a bandeau with this skirt. If the bandeau was a crop top instead with short sleeves or if it the top part covered her mid section and was strapless then I think I would love it more, but overall she looks amazing. You better work that Anna Wintour hair cut!

BEST DRESSED

Bella Hadid in Alexandre Vauthier, Chrissy Teigan in Yousef Al-jasmi, Jazmine Sullivan in Michael Costello, Selena Gomez in Calvin Klein

Giuliana Rancic in Jani & Khosla, Tori Kelly in Gauri & Nainika, Kacey Musgraves in Armani Prive, Janelle Monae in Jean Paul Gaultier

I was really excited to see Tori Kelly in a gown because she’s more of a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl. I know your probably wondering why I like Kacey Musgraves dress but it’s different and I like the ombre effect of the purple blending into the blue and then green, sometimes you just have to step outside of the box! Janelle Monae always serves and slays and she did not disappoint me, I am living for this look!

IT’S NOT BAD…BUT I’M STILL NOT FEELING IT

Adele in Givenchy, Demi Lovato in Norisol Ferrari, Zendaya in Dsqaured Carrie Underwood in Nicolas Jebran

I just don’t understand…Zendaya always comes through for me and she let me down….WAY DOWN! I understand she was paying homage to David Bowie but come on girl! That mullet sent me over the edge. Demi’s outfit looked like something you would wear to church and not the Grammys but her Lionel Richie performance made up for it. All the other girls looked pretty but they could’ve came a bit harder but it’s okay ya’ll still look cute
