Lavish Life | Zen Moments at the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie
I have noticed that I have developed a very luxurious (yet expensive) hobby by frequenting various high end hotel spas. I feel like the bougie life chose me to be a participant in carrying this oh so tasking burden by sipping tea and being rubbed down in all the right areas. Currently, in my roster I have visited the Four Seasons Spa, The Trump Hotel Spa, and now the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie at the Shangri-La Hotel as of this past Thursday night.
I was a bit skeptical to go to this spa because there were so many mixed reviews; I would really hate to have a terrible spa experience especially at a top rated hotel. I am so used to going to the Four Seasons because I have had such a good experience there so it is hard for me to try other spas, but the Shangri-La Hotel is worth ALL of the hype! I had a 6:45pm appointment and was greeted by the spa staff at the front, she showed me to the change room and then brought me to the Relaxation Lounge which had multiple chairs and couches, signature Caudalie candles, zen music, and dried fruit.
While sitting for about 5 minutes, my massage therapist came (with water) and brought me to my moroccan themed room. She gave me the option of having a lemongrass or ginger scented oil to be rubbed with (naturally I picked the lemongrass) and then proceeded to give me an amazing massage. After the massage, I decided to head over to the Hammam steam room to sweat out all of the bad toxins/vibes that I has been built up within me during the last couple of months. Lastly, I went back to the relaxation room where I was greeted by another spa attendant that gave me chai tea, grapes, and baklava.
Overall, this experience was completely zen and no less than 5 stars for me and I would definitely go back for a massage and possibly try the Hammam & Gommage treatments. I believe that everyone should treat themselves once in a while because if you don’t do it for yourself then who is going to do it for you?
