Lavish Music | “If I Was A Bird” Release
I am not really sure if I have expressed to my Lavish Loves that I dabble in a bit of music recording, but I have just released my new song “If I Was A Bird”. I have always been a lover of music and always wanted to create something of my own. When I was younger I always said that the artists that make the best songs are artists with guitars and since then I always wanted to own a guitar in order to create what my heart speaks. I received my first guitar in 2010, taught myself how to play by learning different chords and chord progressions, and I have been in love ever since.
I have written and recorded If I Was A Bird on a voicenote in 2015 and I guess I was in a pretty crappy mood as you can tell by the lyrics. Sometimes, I just feel like the world around me is too overwhelming and I would like to fly away from all of my problems just like a bird can. There are times when I actually don’t fully complete a song during my writing process because I either suffer from writer’s block or I think to myself that the song is complete the way it is or I feel like I can just use it as an interlude if I ever record an album. While randomly practicing this song (as I occasionally do) I ended up finishing it and writing the bridge in 2017…a whole TWO years later!
The song basically goes into a sad, dark place where you want to be as free as a bird and run away from all my problems but the bridge is reassuring you that everything will be okay and you will eventually reach your happy place wherever/whatever that may be. “We will go, far away, up from here, to a higher place”, for me my happy place that I am referring to is heaven, it doesn’t matter what I am currently facing on this earth or how many tears I may cry but I know I am destined for a greater purpose and I will eventually reach the land of peace.
