Oscars Red Carpet 2016
This was the most controversial Oscars due to the fact that every black actor, actress, and film were snubbed from being nominated this year which started #Oscarsowhite. Chris Rock (a black comedian) hosted the Oscars and was hilarious while bringing awareness to Hollywood by letting them know that the only thing black actors/actresses want is the same opportunity that white actors/actresses have when it comes to getting roles and being respected for their craft. Talking about people being respected for their craft, I am so happy Leonardo DiCaprio won for Best Actor it was his time to win but I still don’t understand how he didn’t get the Oscar for Titanic. The red carpet was insane this year, there were so many great outfits that I had to include a men’s best dressed this year.
Lady Gaga has left Lady Gaga behind at the Grammy’s and came as Stephanie. I prefer her looking like this Hollywood glam girl instead of one of those crazy characters from The Hunger Games. When she stepped onto the red carpet I was literally spazzing out because it’s white, it’s a jumpsuit, it has a train! Everything about this look is slayage material, I would prefer if she had a coloured lipstick but despite that she was definitely on POINT!
Olivia Wilde in Valentino, Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad, Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier, Rooney Mara in Givenchy, Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein
Charlize Theron in Dior, Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive, Jennifer Garner in Atelier Versace, Margot Robbie in Tom Ford.
I was hesitant to put Cate Blanchett for Best Dressed because I didn’t know how I felt about this dress, but when she was presenting you could see all the diamonds in between the flowers of her dress sparkling and that just did it for me. Red Carpets can be deceiving sometimes because a dress could look “okay” in pictures and on TV but in person it could be really gorgeous because the camera doesn’t pick up all the detail within the dress. Anyway she looked like a fairy and I love it!
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE
THE MEN CAME TO SERVE AND SLAY TOO!
Ryan Seacrest in Ryan Seacrest Distinction, Common in Dolce & Gabbana, Eddie Redmayne in Alexander McQueen, Michael Strahan in Collection by Michael Strahan, Kevin Hart in Dolce & Gabbana
I love men’s fashion just as much as women’s and I like when men do something different with their outfits instead of wearing a plain black tux. I like Michael Strahan’s look the most just because of this blue suit, it’s different and I think guys should stray away from the shades and step into some colour.
